Topic: Texas - The Standard for Election Integrity

Donna García Davidson is a longtime member and supporter of TFRW serving in various capacities and volunteering her legal expertise to train and educate Republican activists across Texas. She regularly speaks at TFRW conventions and club meetings, presents for candidate development programs, and advises on campaign finance issues. She is a past volunteer General Counsel to the Republican Party of Texas, as well as serving as their outside counsel providing legal support with elections and redistricting. Donna has served as a delegate or alternate to various precinct, county, senatorial district, state, and national Republican conventions since 1984.

Since founding her solo practice in 2009, Donna has advised statewide officeholders, legislators, political parties, political action committees, associations, lobbyists, and county, city, and school board candidates on matters including election law, campaign finance compliance, governmental ethics, and redistricting. Donna is one of only 15 Texas attorneys Board Certified in Legislative and Campaign Law and was also a founding member and the second Chair of that section. Her legal and political career spans more than 40 years and includes serving as Assistant General Counsel and Ethics Advisor to Governor George W. Bush, Assistant General Counsel to then-Agriculture Commissioner Rick Perry, later as General Counsel to Lieutenant Governor Rick Perry, and Deputy General Counsel during Governor Perry’s transition to that office.

In 2022, Donna served as Election Integrity Counsel for the Republican National Committee, training poll watchers and election workers statewide. She continues this work through the Texas Election Network, a nonprofit focused on election integrity and voter education, furthering her commitment to securing the electoral process in Texas.

A member of Capitol Republican Women with her husband, as an associate member, Donna and Greg remain very active in Republican activities. Her daughter, Mary Grace, was honored to be a participant in the TFRW 40 under 40 Program. Sadly, her grand dog, Wrigley, currently resides in Florida with his mom. From serving as legal counsel to Texas governors and an ethics advisor to elected officials, to advocating for election integrity and running as a judicial candidate, Donna has dedicated more than four decades to advancing conservative principles and strengthening the electoral process in Texas.
